THERE IS NOTHING SO WONDERFUL AS SPRING AFTER A LONG MICHIGAN WINTER
We welcomed Spring and March Madness during the past week! There were school conferences so the kids had half-days on tuesday and Thursday and a day off on Friday.
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day at Potter Park Zoo and then came home to corned beef and cabbage. ALL of the kids ate the corned beef and loved it!
Nolan and Aidan had their fourth grade play about Michigan History on Monday. Nolan was an Iron Ore miner and Aidan was a fur traper. They both had a great time with their parts AND the singing and dancing....it was terriffic.
Buffy and her 'best, best friend', Addison had a sleepover on Friday night. It was pretty funny to watch! However, they both went to bed easily and slept through the night! Both girls were quite delighted with themselves when they came downstairs Saturday morning.
So, the crocus are up, the snow has melted, we're gathering bags and bags of yard waste and old leaves and soooooo ready for Spring! All of this is exciting, but can't compare to the excitement of watching our beloved Spartans win their first two tournement games! Go Spartans!

Lilly's second grade class is performing both today and tomorrow their version of "AESOP'S FABLES DELUXE"....the musical. We were all there for today's performance and it was fabulous! Buffy believed Lilly was playing a tiger, I was quite sure she was a cow.....and when the play started we both discovered she was playing an ox! And a fine Ox she was! She grinned during most of the songs and did a great job with her part. We are all so proud of you, Lilly!
Aidan's Saturday morning basketball games are coming to an end in the next couple of weeks. His team has not been quite as successful as our beloved Spartans this season, but it has been great fun watching him and his friends get better and better each week.
Lilly's basketball season ended last week so she now has time to come up with special dinners instead of going to practice. Last night she wowed us with her 'delux nachos'! The kids team up one or two nights a week to plan and cook dinner. They are all doing a great job and need less and less help!

Happiest of Congratulations to our friend Lori and her Family! (Or as you are called in our house "Lori's Kids") What a wonderful day to be included in your celebration...or just, what a wonderful day! Buffy and I loved watching the Adoption Hearing in court Friday morning. All of us had a fabulous time at Jumping Jack's that afternoon. What a fun day! Congratulations to Tristan and Mya for getting your forever family! We love all of you!
John finally felt weel enough last week-end to celebrate his birthday. I don't have pictures of he and his friends going to a movie and then coming back here for pizza and cake---that just was way too not cool! These pictures are from Sunday. We had his favorite, spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. Some things about this kid never change :). That he is 17, is starting to sink in to me this week.

Happy 17 and Square Root Day to John!!!
Happy, Happy 17th Birthday to my sweet baby, John. All of my kids are now old enough to be annoyed when I refer to them as my babies....but he will always be my baby, even at 17!
I tried to post pictures -- old and new --- with no success today.
Pete will be home this week-end and we will have more celebrations, so hopefully I will get some pictures then.
Tonight, just as he was "officially" 17 (9:23pm, to be exact), he went to bed with a fever, sore throat, and lots of aches and pains..yuck,yuck,yuck.
