Memorial Day and the End of the School Year!

What a couple of weeks it has been! There are performances and concerts and recitals every other hour!
Nolan and Aidan are preparing to leave their Elementary School and go to the 5th/6th Grade Building in the fall. Pasha and John went there, too, but that doesn't make any of us less anxious! Nolan is willing, but not thrilled. Aidan, a little more of an adventurer thinks because it is further from home, it may be more fun.
As part of their swan song from Pinecrest, the 4th grade performs a talent show. Nolan played his recorder with two friends, and Aidan sang a solo, something like "watch out world--here I come". Needless to say, I took a lot of pictures (none of which are worth showing anyone,in that you cannot tell what anything is)...also, I started to cry the minute Nolan walked on stage and continued to cry through Aidan's song and gathering my flock in the hall to take home. So, sorry...no pictures...but trust me, it was moving and worth hearing and seeing. Nolan and Aidan have both done a tremendous job in these K-4 years. Aidan has been such a great brother and helper to Nolan and Nolan has worked so hard to be where he is now...and be ready for where he's going! I am so proud of both of them!

Memorial Day week-end was great and fun. We went to the cottage early afternoon on Friday, new boat (well, new to us) in hand. We cleaned, mowed, swept, re-arranged and had lots of fun. Kate and Rick came over for coffee. Kate and I went to the Cemetaries AND the Jackson Coney Island. Our Wheeler Friends came for dinner and swimming on Sunday....all and all, we tried to 'open the cottage' and didn't quite get there----but we are so ready for summer, it doesn't matter!

Tonight was John's final choir concert of the year. I didn't even try to take pictures but Uncle Doug did so maybe I can borrow some. John sang like an angel---and the whole choir looked and sang beautifully, too. Good I didn't try to take pictures because I cried through most of this performance, too.....I was happy to have Susan next to me because she's a crier, too!

All and all, the end of the year is great stuff! We're on to T-Ball and dance rehersals Saturday----dance recital Monday night! I think I'll get an IV to be good and hydrated for that one----Buffy, Ben, Alex, Jane and Lilly are all dancing!

I wish for everyone to be so bleased and busy this May/June!!!

Happy 5th Birthday, Sweet, Sweet Buffy!!!

Happy Day and Happy Fifth Birthday to our Baby Girl, Buffy!!! She had a great day today and tonight and a wonderful celebration yesterday with "Our Wheeler Friends".

I don't know how she got to 5 so fast---but she did! She is sooooo ready to be a BIG girl and go to the REAL school with her brothers and sisters!

She is so happy with all of her Hannah Montana 'stuff', she is almost speachless at times! Her total favorite is her Hannah Montana sleeping bag THAT CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY!!! from Jo-Jo! Thank-you, Jo-Jo!

What a wonderful sweet girl she is---and the joy she has brought every one of us is immeasurable! We love you, Buffy!

And Happy Birthday to Karen, too! Someday, I hope the two of you can celebrate together! We love you, too, Karen!

SPRING SOCCER ENDS WITH SUNSHINE AND SMILES ALL AROUND

On Saturday, Aidan, Lilly and Jane played their last Spring soccer games at Stockbirdge, Okemos and East Lansing! What started out as a cold rainy season, ended the same way. By the time we all arrived at Jane's 2:00 game at the Hannah Center, it was warmer and the sun was out. As you can see from the pictures earlier in the day---we needed blankets and jackets!
It was a great season and they all were lucky to have such wonderful coaches and make such great friends!

Graduation Day for our Angels!!!

Four of the smartest, most beautiful, fun loving and hard working young women graduated from Michigan State University today----and they are 'somewhat' ours!!!
Chelsea, Christina, Sarah and Meghan are off to follow their dreams and make new memories in their new lives.
Chelsea and Meghan will be near here next year to do their insternship in elementary teaching. Christina will be off to Virginia to work for IBM in supply chain management and Sarah is gainfully employed with Michigan Clean Water Action in government relations.
They are all very wonderful and have bright futures! Most importantly, we will miss all of them so much. They have been helpful in every aspect of our lives and our kids lives. They drive to practices, lessons, games. They cook and pack lunches. They do laundry and help teach the kids to put it away. They play games, they read, they laugh and they love---and the hardest part of their success for us is having them leave!
We are the luckiest family in the world to have the help of these terriffic young women.

Junior Spartan Picnic and Mya's 5th Birthday!!!

Sunday was the annual Junior Spartan Picnic at the Baseball & Softball Field. The kids had a ball with the games and hot dogs, ice cream and each other! After the picnic, we came home with our Wheeler and Schwem friends and celebrated Mya's 5th Birthday! It was a great day with our friends and the weather was wonderful, too.!
